Twenty-five years of making other people’s systems work.

I’m Derek Turner. I spent a career in operations and business systems — inventory supervision, business systems management, ERP administration, Salesforce architecture. I’m now building the same kind of machinery for people running something on the side of a full life.

The one thing I’d tell you

Most advice aimed at people like us opens with build an audience. Post daily, grow the list, become a personality. It asks you to become someone else first and build the thing second.

James Clear, in Atomic Habits:

“You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems.”

James Clear, Atomic Habits

What you’re trying to build is a system problem. Systems are the work I’ve spent twenty-five years doing.

The short version of me

I struggled to learn to read. Then I found the library, and I read voraciously.

Twenty-five years since: inventory supervision, business systems management, ERP administration, Salesforce architecture.

I’m doing that same work now with tools large organizations can’t deploy, because of institutional inertia rather than capability.

Where I put what I actually use

ShareNotSell is the community I’m building to share the tools and the systems I run my own businesses on — before I sell anything.

The name is the rule. Share first, not sell first. Put plainly: if I haven’t provided you with exceptional value, you shouldn’t buy from or through me.

Free to register. On day one there’s a welcome post and nothing else. The rest goes up when it’s real, not before.

If you’re mid-career, you have a job and a life, and there’s something you’ve been meaning to build — this is the room.

If you want someone to hype you into it, it isn’t. I’d rather you know that now.
